Music to live your life by‘surprisingly full for an acoustic duo’
Roger Hill and Mel Jones are Intrigue in Tangiers, a sophisticated songwriting partnership and an articulate acoustic band.
Lifelong friends who share a passion for everything guitar, Roger and Mel write songs that are characterised by interweaving guitars, confident rhythms and captivating musical melodies overlaid by thought provoking lyrics, sung with depth and emotion. Roger and Mel both play guitar and both sing. The live sound is confident and dynamic and often described as ‘surprisingly full for an acoustic duo’.
Teaming up with Leamington based producer, and studio engineer, Andie Thomson in 2007, Intrigue in Tangiers abandoned ‘home recording’ and began to make studio albums. Nine albums later and 30 years from their humble beginnings, Intrigue in Tangiers played Solihull Arts Complex on 3rd May, and Andie Thomson was recording and producing the event which was captured for a live album to be released through EmuBands later in 2014.
